Definition

An instance of this DRM class specifies the specular coefficient that determines how shiny a colour is to appear, based on the angle between lines from the observer to the coloured environmental object and from the coloured environmental object to the light source.

The shininess field specifies the specular coefficient.

• Consider a <DRM Colour Table> instance with a <DRM Presentation Domain> component having presentation_domain = { OTW }, the entries of which are intended for use in representing metallic surfaces in the OTW visual domain. Each <DRM Primitive Colour> instance in the table is defined by a <DRM Specular Colour> component and a <DRM Ambient Colour> component.

  Depending on the angles between the observer, the metallic surface, and the light source, the shininess of each <DRM Specular Colour> instance will vary. Hence, each <DRM Specular Colour> instance in the table has a <DRM Colour Shininess> component, if the corresponding metal is sufficiently reflective.
